Hans Wiener in memoriam 1924 – 2024

We sadly have to inform that Hans Wiener, the founder of Stiftelsen Hans Wiener Foundation, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2024, in Stockholm, Sweden.
His lifelong support for Israel and higher education is a cornerstone of the Foundation’s work, and his legacy will continue from generation to generation.

Promotion of purpose 2022

During the financial year 2022, the purpose has been promoted by awarding 8 semester scholarships for family members, as well as a 19 scholarships to students and researchers at Hebrew University. In addition, the Hans Wiener Prize (2022) was awarded to two Ph.D. students.

Promotion of purpose 2021

During the financial year 2021, the purpose has been promoted by awarding 9 semester scholarships for family members, as well as 29 scholarships to students and researchers at Hebrew University. In addition, the Hans Wiener Prize (2021) was awarded, as well as support for the publication of the book “Riszi and Leibi – from Sieghet to Gothenburg”, a survival story from the Holocaust published by Bokförlaget Korpen.

Sponsored Swedish TV documentary

The foundation has sponsored a documentary about children transports to Sweden during the second world war that was brodcasted on Swedish national TV.
